My aim is to bring awareness of the Classical and Charlotte Mason approach to home education (home schooling) to Irish families by showing how my family use this style: how we supplement, substitute and adapt US curriculum; include Irish history and geography; information on books fitting this approach available in our libraries; local resources and the wonderful local field trips available. 

What personal data I collect and why I collect it

I may collect and process the following data about you:

If you contact me, I may keep a record of that correspondence. I will use your name and e-mail address to deliver emails directly to your inbox where you choose to subscribe to be informed of new posts. I use Mailchimp to manage the subscriptions and you can find out more about their privacy practices here

I may also collect details of your visits to this site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data and the resources that you access on our site. This is statistical data about users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases I rely on for processing this information are:

(a) Your consent. You can remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting me.

(b) Where I have a legal obligation.

(c) Where I have a legitimate interest, namely to improve this site.

_gid – Used to distinguish users. It is set to 2 years.

_gat – This gives visibility in how you interact with the site. It will expire after 24 hours of inactivity.

_ga – Used to throttle request to Google Analytics. It is set for 1 minute.

Who I share your data with

I use service providers to host this site and interact with you. Your personal data such as your name and e-mail address is not shared with third parties unless you explicitly give consent as in the case, you choose to subscribe to receive new posts or contact me. I will never sell your data to third parties.

I may be required to share your personal data if required by a legal obligation or to protect my legal rights.

How long I retain your data

I will keep a record if you contact me and or if you choose to subscribe to receive new posts. Your anonymous online activity in interacting with the site will be retained as per Google Privacy Policy and also Google’s Analytics cookies expiry limits as listed above.

What rights you have over your data

Your right of access – You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data.

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask to rectify personal data you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask to complete information you think is incomplete.
